The history and the market is different. In the US girls have been allowed to play soccer for longer time as the sport was not perceived as a male sport (boys were more focused on football or baseball). In the rest of the world even Europe real football is the most popular sport, and its or was a MALE activity. In the last years perception has changed and now more girls are attracted to play the game. The Spanish team is a baby compared to the US team. When this baby and others grow up, then we’ll see a real game and competition.
So when a senior USNT beats another country's fully capable senior team playing the same revered style a number of times it doesn't count, but when that country's U15 team that plays said revered style and beats a US team in one game, it does. Okie dokie.
The player pool and development investment between the current Spanish team and the current youth program is significantly different now. If you think the current Spanish NT were provided the same pro club academy backing as they are now you are deluding yourself. But I’m sure our top league that plays and trains competitively for 6 whole months will be better trained, better equipped than kids training 10 months at La Masia, Real Madrid or any other pro club in Spain.
? GA clubs train 11 months.
