No because the league is for weaker teams. Pipeline is not putting its B team in DA's development league because the B team can beat many of the DA and ECNL team on the east cost and at the vert please, can compete. Again, why would a player leave a team playing in the top showcases and against strong league opponents for ECNL II, where they would play the B teams of clubs where the often play and beat the A team. Get a clue. ECNL II is just a joke. MD United B team is weak across almost every age group. If you play for SAC, Baltimore Union, Baltimore Celtic, Pipeline or Navy Premier, why would you leave your team for Md United's B team. Sorry, I am wasting my time because you are just too dense to understand that slapping ECNL or DA on a jersey and traveling 200+ miles for games does not make your DD elite.
1. Pipeline is a feeder club to Baltimour Armour DA, not hte other way around. 2. Players will leave for better showcasing environments that DA and ECNL can provide. The coaches list at Jeff Cup is laughable compared to a ECNL or DA showcase. 3. ECNL 2 and ECNL Regional are currently a land grab. It remains to be seen how these leagues will play out in the long run. Perhaps ECNL will use these second leagues as part of a pro/rel system or as part of a larger pyramid. They could also just remain nothing more than re-badged NPL with no real purpose.
Not PP but 1000+ his point. The value of playing on an ECNL and DA is demonstrable. I don't see the value of playing ECNL 2, ECNL regional or DA Development League (or whatever they call it). The point re: Pipeline is that the top players ta Pipleine can play for Baltimore Armour/WS DA and do so Pipeline's top team is basically the B team but that team, even with the loss of players going to DA, can still beat many of the ECNL teams in the area. Obviously, Jefferson Cup is not the PDA Showcase and the US Youth Soccer Nationals are not the same as the DA/ECNL showcases in terms of attracting the top college coaches but it is still better than ECNL II or DA II.
How is it better than ECNL 2 showcasing wise? Top ECNL 2 teams would get the extra benefit of also playing in ECNL showcases.
Name one coach who is going to waste time going to watch a ECNL II game. Come on! Inviting ECNL II teams would dilute the experience. Again, these are B teams and for some clubs, the drop off in talent between A and B is dramatic. People, the HC at Georgetown is not going to show up at a Bethesda B team game and say, "I am here because I head that the Bethesda B team has an amazing player who would make a great attacking midfielder in our program. I heard that she doesn't play for Bethesda's already weak A team because she can't commit to the ECNL II travel schedule." In what scenario will that happen? It will not happen. Don't buy into the fraud.
Coaches go to watch players not teams. If the team is at the showcase the coach is at yes, the coach will go and watch.
Is the argument that edp is superior to ecnl2 or ecnl?
ECNL is superior to EDP in regards to showcasing. ECNL 2 has the potential to be superior to EDP in regards to showcasing IF your DD is on a top ECNL 2 team that qualifies for ECNL showcases. EDP really only gets to play in showcases that ECNL teams can already play in while being excluded from ECNL showcases. IF your DD is lucky enough to be born under the right sign and the stars are aligned she might be on a top tier EDP team that makes a deep run in their respective National Championship. You also need to be on a top team to be in the top brackets against ECNL teams at showcases like Jeff Cup. If your DD's goal is to play in college she would be wise to just go to the best ECNL or DA team she can make and forget the whole ECNL 2 or EDP route. Especially in this area with so much dilution.
Check the college scout list at usysa regionals versus da/ecnl playoffs. Pretty eye-opening.
Post the link and I will. But the point still stands, there are several ECNL/DA options in the area to choose from at ALL age groups. How many DMV area teams are making USYSA Regionals every year? Sure, its great if you are lucky enough to be near such a team, lukier if you can predict which team will make Regionals and beyond.
That is the point. Why is it so hard to understand. If you are pipelines 05 team which is going to nationals and has beaten every ECNL team in the region and does when the top brackets at the top tournaments, why would you leave to play for Bethesda''s B team who you have outscored 20-1. It would be a step down for any player.
Please stop with the “pipeline 05 team has beaten everyone” line. How’d they do against fcv, vda, McLean, Richmond, armour?
They beat FCV four times: 2-1, 5-1, 5-0 and 5-0. The aggregate goal difference is 17-2. They beat McLean in a close game 2-1.
You beat fcv edp or npl or something. You don’t even know what you’re talking about. Did you beat Bethesda and cedar stars edp teams too?
Not the same PP, jacka$$!
