They REALLY want to believe it's just a matter of too many lattes for the lower quintile. When you're poor, your choices are basically decrease expenses significantly -- not always possible; or earn more -- also not always possible. To make people less poor, we can A) decrease their expenses (lower housing, transportation, and childcare); and B) increase wages through unionization, living wage legislation. [/quote]
