My son is a U14 and the teams in the first division are filled with men.  We were the shortest, pre-pubescent (most newly 13 Fall bdays) out of the 9 teams.  It was shocking how much bigger, taller and thicker the players on those teams were, not more skilled or smarter players for the most part, just more physical.

It must be a little discouraging for the skilled but smaller kids.

My U11 DD has a late Fall birthday too. I hope she doesn’t get too discouraged in the next few years.

She’s one of the better girls on her mid-tier team but I don’t know if it’s wise to have her tryout for a top team (ie BSC Blue, Bordeaux, etc.).  Being with her team since Fall 2018, I don’t know if it’s wise to switch teams yet. [/quote]
