Different Poster here but you are overlooking the fact that many of the jobs that undocumented workers do pay well below the poverty line . A citizen or documented worker getting minimum wage as a bus boy or landscaper with unsteady hours due to what the business needs would not make enough to have file state or federal income taxes anyway. There just aren't many big law undocumented workers making 6 figures so its incorrect to say that undocumented workers are evading income taxes. Now, their employers may very well be evading paying into workers comp, unemployment and SS/Med. Some employers do file taxes for undocumented workers -this is a net gain for the gov't because the undocumented worker is not able to use the benefits or withdraw from Social Security later in life.

Overall undocumented workers put more into the government than they take out.
