Tons of MCPS people use Twitter. If you’re not on, you might want to get on. They probably post more there than anywhere else. Where they’re not is on Facebook. Twitter is less risky. I disagree that people over 40 are not on Twitter. And there’s no way admin will start using Snapchat or Instagram alongside their students. But yes, email should take priority.[/quote]

Marketing 101 - you are supposed to adjust to your marketplace, not assume the marketplace will adjust to you.  Using an outdated form of social media especially for the high school population just shows that your message is falling on deaf ears and you are out of touch with the community.[/quote]

Or they don’t want to engage with students on social media because that’s inappropriate, so they use a form of social media that’s very easy for parents to use and that won’t land them in hot water. I think it’s smart of them. If they have Snapchat or instagram they can use it under an alias in their non professional capacity.[/quote]
