tips to get to AAP at certain schools -must kiss ass your AARP teacher that gives you a glowing report / recomend -same with your kid's teacher -bake them goodies; give nice gifts & gift cards Xmas and Teachers' appreciation Days -decent test scores; above 80 percentile on COGAT -be an active member of PTA -active volunteer at your kid's school what else?
Ok. This posting says a lot about you and your kid. 1. Your kid didn't get into AAP. 2. Your kid's CogAt score: less than 80% (btw, 80% is not even enough for the cut) 3. You never go to school for your kid. You might not even remember your kid's teacher's name. And somehow you feel proud of it. I'm not an active member of PTA, I don't volunteer at school since I'm a full time working mom. My kid asks me how come I don't come to school like other moms, I feel sorry for my kid, I don't feel proud of myself at all. I do have a lot of respect for those PTA moms, they work hard. Yes, they do it mostly for their own kids but, my kid get benefits from them too. They are people who help teachers and school. I have no problem that teachers/school pay attention to their kid a bit more. And there are kids who stand out no matter what. It doesn't matter if you kiss ass your teacher or not. Teacher and school can't ignore those kids. So, either help your kids do better, Or volunteer at school and try to be nice to teachers. Have you ever try to be nice to people around you? It's your kid's teacher, nothing wrong about you bake cookies for her/him and say thank you once a while. If you don't want to do anything, just stop talking here do your own thing. I feel bad for your kid.
