[/quote] When I consider that my child is just as likely to thrive in a school with lower test scores, and that being in a diverse environment can teach children empathy and the ability to see things from different points of view, yes, I would say that diversity is well worth the consideration, even if it means the school might have lower test scores. Also, do people think there is necessarily a warm, positive atmosphere in "high SES" schools? They can be pressure cookers filled with unhappy kids being driven to get in the best university possible at all costs. [/quote]
