I agree. But it’s cl at those making the call are adults who care more about student safety than popularity.

Frankly I don’t understand why closures are always an issue for parents. You know it’s a reality every year. I’d think you’d be a PARENT and put backup in place for YOUR child. [/quote]

Especially since it’s such a short time when child care is needed. By the time they are 10, most kids can be home alone for a good portion of the day without any problems. We have no family around to help and we’ve never, in 12 years, had an issue with school closures or sick days. We take turns, or we find someone to help us, but we never complain and blame others about it. THAT I will never understand.[/quote]
