Nope. Meryl goes all the way back to award winning  "Deer Hunter".  She predates Harvey. I don't know if she knew or not. And neither do you. [/quote]

Meryl Streep has been around long before HW showed up. I also think he, like many predators, was smart enough to be on his best behavior around her. It's clear he was very careful in choosing his targets as young actresses that were early in their careers. He used the huge imbalance of power to his advantage.

I think Clooney's statement was interesting.

It does suggest another possible angle to the silence around this. That in some ways a person in Hollywood hearing the rumors might have felt like discussing it more openly was attacking the woman, rather than Weinstein. It sadly shows how much work there is to done on this. The default is always, ALWAYS to blame/doubt/shame the woman.
