Agree with most of what you said, but isn't it property taxes that fund the schools? Those are pretty low in DC, particularly compared to other parts of the country.[/quote]

DC taxes all go into the same pot.  Income taxes are among the highest in the country and sales and restaurant taxes are high also.[/quote]
