Comment that has some interesting detail if it is true. @dxdux 2 hours ago (edited) Hello from D.R. and Thanks for the video!. Have you seen the video from the bar?, that video shows that these kids were extremely intoxicated before going to the beach. I want to talk about a couple of points just to put things in perspective: 1-) The figure "person of interest" does not exist here and has not been used in this case by the local authorities, I am not sure way the international press keep mentioning it. 2-) Joshua Riibe has not been interrogated without a lawyer while in custody, he was asked questions while in the hotel, the beach, etc. but no in custody. Once in custody, his lawyers were present and you can bet they know English (unlike me, sorry about my bad English by the way). 3-) For Joshua Riibe there is a big problem right now: The new Attorney General has taken the case to herself and is now the person directing the investigation, she is fierce, like very fierce, the kind of person (this is my opinion only) that think of you of guilty and you have to prove her wrong. She is extremely loved here because she was the main persecutor of the corrupt politicians of the previous government that ended with a lot of prominent people in jail. She interrogated him in his hotel room for 6 hours. 4-) About the confiscated passport, Dominican authorities don't use this to prevent you to leave the country using the airport (for that the norm is a "migration alert" and you won't be able to leave, trust me, no matter if you have your passport) this is more to prevent a person to leave the island crossing the border with Haiti and then take a flight from there. 5) If you need some example of how fierce the Attorney General is, here is one: last night at 2 a.m., Joshua Riibe was taken to the beach to recreate the events of that sad day. Think about that for a second, 2 a.m.!.
Any of the numerous US-based LE currently in DR able to protect his rights?
What rights? Those that are granted by the US are your rights only in the US. So why would a US anybody be prtecting his rights (those that are granted by the DR)?
