[twitter]https://x.com/jimsciutto/status/2050261496861426070?s=46&t=kf1qYlCXQnKgUhJWEIu2vg[/twitter]
The experts have been saying this for a while. The US will be forced to leave the region. Iran is the new power in the region. Good luck UAE! The missile threat is too great to maintain these bases. The US has 27 bases in the ME all for the defense of Israel. Before the war operating these bases was about 1/3 of our total defense spending. We spent less on NATO vs the cost of these bases for Israel.
You're funny. The purposes of those military bases are to secure oil routes, protect allies, counter terrorism, and deter Iran and other regional threats under the US Central Command (CENTCOM) framework. Yes, Israel is one of those allies - but so is the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt, Oman, and Jordan. Your fixation on and hatred of Israel is noted.
So wait, two things: 1) Which are those other regional threats that you think so highly of? 2) Without the Israel mafia, the US wouldn't need to ally with any of those other countries. Stop moving goalposts and arguing about third order effects that only manifest because of the initial problem: Israel.
Sorry, what? Ever heard of Iranian-backed proxies, Hezbollah, Hamas, and Houthis? Sure you have. All three pose a threat to our ME allies, listed above. Interesting that you completely ignore the Iranian mafia, but not surprising.
Again, those are third order problems... That begin and end with Israel.
Oh, BS. The Iranian “mafia” has been terrorizing the ME and US for decades.
9/11 was from our friend Saudi Arabia.
Not even talking about 9/11. Referring to all the terrorism, bombings, kidnappings, suicide bombings, etc. targeting US citizens, military personnel, and diplomatic facilities by Iran and its terrorist proxies. Keep up.
did this happen before the 1953 coup orchestrated by the CIA on behalf of BP??? I know that for us, that is so long ago and who cares but Iranians have been on a 75 year long odyssey of oppression since then and yes, the shah regime was also horrific and oppressive and he wasn't a king like Charles- he was US installed dictator who was called king b/c Iranians are culturally super bougie so it sounded better. this is all Blowback, we did something truly horrible and we have to bear the consequences somewhat for what our government did, that isn't saying teh Iranians government doesnt suck- they do- but it is our fault. the CIA's decisions to arm mullahs in the postcolonial period has really bad consequences.
Add in the Allies killed 1/3-1/2 of Iran’s population during WW2. Iran has only responded to US and Israel attacks. That is the response of a state not a terrorist. I just do not understand the Israeli obsession with Iran. It is truly nuts.
I am surprised Pakistan is not on Israel and the Us’s radar instead of Iran. Unlike Iran, Pakistan actually does have nuclear weapons and it has a bigger population than all the Arab nations and Iran combined. I guess it’s because India is Pakistans enemy not sure but didn’t they tell us Osama bin Laden was hiding there? In a nuclear armed country? Also, the Pakistani intel agencies have a close relationship with the CIA and Mossad. A long time ago, some Mossad agents were caught with Pakistani passports in Mexico City. The story was buried. President Obama also spent a summer in Pakistan in the 80s allegedly as a cia intern. Who knows?? My guess is Iran is more of a threat to Israel because Iran is more vocal about Palestine and has expansionist goals (Shia crescent) in the Levant just like Israel does. Hezbollah alone has prevented Israel from occupying Lebanon completely Ala the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Israel’s end game is to extend from Saudi Arabia to Cyprus. It’s a pipe dream but that’s their dream
Netanyahu is on record saying that Pakistan is a problem that needs to be dealt with. As for the false flag being conducted in Mexico city by Mossad, I don't think Pakistan was in on it.
