I concur with this assessment.  Valor looks much stronger than MYS this year.  The one thing to consider is the tight relationship between McLean 2014 and the FVU coaches giving McLean the recruitment edge, but def not the strongest team out there.[/quote]

Interesting... rankings app seems to think much more highly of the MYS team vs the Valor team, though they have almost no opponents in common. Both teams have had good wins and some bad losses this season. Rankings app says the last time they played each other was last April when it was a 7-1 game.[/quote]

This is not the same Valor team as before. They are playing really well. MYS 2014 is mostly playing low level 2013 tournaments and patting themselves on the back for it. Not impressed.[/quote]

Since the two teams last played, according to the Rankings app, Valor has played in 3 tournaments

Pre-ECNL East Coast Cup - didn't advance
Lost to VA #5
Beat PA #30
Lost to NJ #8

WAGS 3rd division - finished second in their bracket and didn't advance
lost to NC #4 team
beat MD #6 team
beat NJ #13 team

Loudoun Cup - didn't advance
Lost to VA #5
Lost to VA #23
Beat VA #23

MYS has played in four tournaments:

Nations Cup - didn't advance
Tied PA #1 (2014 team)
Lost to PA #5 (2014 team)
Beat MD #13 (2013 team)

GA Regional Showcase (all 3 are 2014 teams playing up) - no opportunity to advance
Beat IL #46
Beat OK #4
Beat RNY team (unranked)

WAGS (playing up against 2013s in 7th division) - won the division
Tied TX #33
Beat PA #26
Beat SC #11
Beat VA #15

Copa Rayados (playing up against 2013s) - no opportunity to advance

Valor record against 2014 top 10 teams 2-2-1 (note that I am choosing not to include DCSC in there even though they're #1 in DC, but you can add the 7-0 win against them if you want even though they're #16 of 19 in VPSL)

MYS record against 2013 top 10 teams 2-4

Valor record against 2014 top 10 teams 3-7-1

looks like the MYS record against 2013 top 10 teams is about equivalent to Valor's record against 2014 top 10 teams. The MYS record against 2014 top teams is not amazing but at least it's positive. But I guess you said Valor is playing great, so congrats to your daughter's team.
