PP's point is likely that this shutdown will disproportionately impact Democrats. For instance, Democrats are much more likely to fly for leisure than Republicans, so they'll notice these hiccups first. Same with SNAP, Democrats will notice the pause in SNAP first, and uh, react (in)appropriately.

I guess you aren't familiar with the demographics of the US. Your dark green areas are reservations, the black belt, border counties and yes the Appalachians. Only one of those areas is MAGA country. [/quote]

It’s not that it doesn’t matter at all, it’s that the position is negatively leveraged for the Democrats. It’s an odd position to make a stand on, especially given other factors as well.

The whole Shutdown business is such a blunder by team blue that I can’t help but feel they are purposely acting as a foil for Trump. [/quote]
