Good, less time for the Oakton families to ruin this for those of us who have elementary students and want our kids to go to this HS. It sounds like FCPS is letting even current middle schoolers have a choice, so I don't know why so many Oakton families are being so selfish and trying to make decisions that will impact elementary-aged kids for years and years just so their older kids don't get moved. I hope the school board sees right through them.[/quote]

If it's 100% ready to go then so be it but these kids will not only be moving to a new school, they'll be moving to a construction site with all new teachers, new leadership, new students, minimal programs, no established sports programs, no fields. Some of these people don't just want their high schoolers to stay at Oakton... they don't want to rezoned ever. They want all of their kids to go to Oakton, however far into the future that may be. They aren't seeing the writing on the wall that Oakton is likely to end up overcrowded and guess who will get pushed out, probably to South Lakes, because the new high school is full? Crossfield.
