When is the final decision to be made on which option will be used?
I've seen the options, but have they posted it on the FCPS website--or do we just have Nextdoor and DCUM sources? Cannot believe they are going forward with the BRAC adjustment meeting with Chantilly/Westfiedl.
You need to scroll down this linked page to see Drafts A-D https://www.fcps.edu/new-fcps-high-school-western-fairfax-county
Thanks. We will also provide opportunities for families in the western pyramids to weigh-in on the boundaries at two community meetings: one on Saturday, November 1, and another on Friday, November 14. More information on registration for these meetings will be sent to families by email soon. November 1 is this Saturday. They are moving fast.
Good, less time for the Oakton families to ruin this for those of us who have elementary students and want our kids to go to this HS. It sounds like FCPS is letting even current middle schoolers have a choice, so I don't know why so many Oakton families are being so selfish and trying to make decisions that will impact elementary-aged kids for years and years just so their older kids don't get moved. I hope the school board sees right through them.
So you want our kids to suffer for yours? If it's 100% ready to go then so be it but these kids will not only be moving to a new school, they'll be moving to a construction site with all new teachers, new leadership, new students, minimal programs, no established sports programs, no fields. Etc
But you'll have the option to stay at Oakton. But yes, I think two years of kids can suffer for the good of thousands of kids in the future. Your behavior has been appalling by the way. This isn't about Crossfield, it's about high school students. Stop claiming that elementary parents want this. Own the truth.
Some of these people don't just want their high schoolers to stay at Oakton... they don't want to rezoned ever. They want all of their kids to go to Oakton, however far into the future that may be. They aren't seeing the writing on the wall that Oakton is likely to end up overcrowded and guess who will get pushed out, probably to South Lakes, because the new high school is full? Crossfield.
