They have 135 pages of complaints. I'm amazed anyone tries for for their teams in the first place. Its like eating at a restaurant that has been shut down by the health department.
They give families the warm and fuzzies to pull them in. Many leave after one season because they realize it was all a lie. The gullible ones or the ones who somehow got placed on a higher team than their skill level from lack of attendence to tryouts are the only ones that stay because they can't make similar teams elsewhere.
You are describing my child's team. At least half of the team, probably more, would not make the same level anywhere else. We had hoped a couple of good players would come in from outside the club, and that did not happen. So they had to pull up players from the lower team that are not ready for the level of competition. Really kicking ourselves for not encouraging our child to leave last year when they had the chance. It was their choice to stay, but now they are wishing they had left. I can't even imagine what this team is going to look like next year.
We left last year and hopped on a Pre-Academy Team. My kid is arguable sitting within the top 6 players. Valor had a lot of nepotism, was terrible for development and failed to identify each individual players technical problem areas. If we stayed we would have been on a 4th level team within the age group and four brackets below where we are now. Unless your on a number 1 or 2 team, the pace, intensity and level of performance….I would keep your expectations low. I suggest shopping around and keeping your options open. There are kids there that have either not improved in three seasons or just not that good. If they are simply moving the entire team to the next upper team/color then they really didn't move up. They are just shifting the teams. Don’t buy into all the hype.
