Herndon doesn’t have enough players to field teams. I am fairly certain if you add up the wins and losses of all of the feeder teams in pre ecnl, lets say for girls, it will triple the number of losses compared to wins. This is gut feel, but i bet someone will figure it out and tell me I am in the ballpark.[/quote]

Valor girls are 3rd and 2nd for U11 and U12 pre ecnl. No other feeder team comes close to that level of performance.  As long as FVU is not overrun by McLean 2014 girls jumping over than it is safe to say Valor is the top dog in FVU girls for the foreseeable future. So, yes -- Valor did help save FVU's butt. The rest of the feeder clubs are a joke.[/quote]

How are you so stupid to not understand that there is no such thing as a "feeder team"? Its all marketing and you are a sucker. FVU will take the best players who try out regardless of whether they played rec, Valor, or any other club, "alliance" or not.

All of this is true. Valor does not emphasize technical skills at all. Their most successful team (2013 boys who are all gone now) was full of talented kids who would have done well anywhere and/or were doing outside training. Many Valor coaches rely on kids who are fast and athletic, which doesn’t work as well for 11v11 or against the truly skilled teams. [/quote]

Don’t know how this thread got hijacked by Valor but let’s be fair.  Valor is no different from any other club in the area.  No club is leading in every age group in both genders.  Valor has some strong teams and some (maybe more) weak teams.  In addition to the girls mentioned (2015 in 3rd and 2014 in 2nd), their current 2011 boys are in 2nd place also.

That said, the majority of next year’s 2014 FVU girls roster will likely be filled by Mclean’s preGA and Q3 Q4 McLean and FVU 2013 girls.  Sure the coaches may get early looks at the  “alliance” clubs.  But the McLean 2014 girls are generally better [/quote]This is what I have been speculating as well. Not trying to start an ECNL vs GA flame war but the stigma is still there that ECNL is still a higher league than GA. The Mclean girls who are content with GA will stay.  Those who want ECNl will tryout for FVU. [/quote]

I don't *want* it to be true.  GA is just building itself to be better all across the board.  It will take a few years but it's already growing while ECNL is shrinking.
