Lori is doing the right thing. She's scum no doubt, but I can't see a jury unanimously convicting her..
what...planet....are...you...ON! Why not her, but yes everyone else?
Planet.. earth.. USA! Because none of the others were tried. They all plead guilty and took the punishment. That was their strategy. All she has to do is convince one Jury member to hold out. Not impossible. Quite probable actually. Lawyer plays an important role. See what happened to Elon Musk in his latest trial (Pedo Guy comment) and how the lawyer convinced the Jury to acquit him.
I agree that there is a good possibility that Lori will be acquitted IF defense can come up with some plausible excuse. I can't imagine what it would be, but a highly talented lawyer could make it happen. We've seen it happen in all sorts of criminal cases. The difference I see with the Pedo Guy comment in the Musk trial is that people use adjectives and nouns as insults without necessarily actually intending literal translation or meaning. Not to imply this is right, simply that I can see an argument to be made (was made?? I have no idea what their argument was) by the defense in this case.
the other big difference is that a lot of people...most people cannot personally relate even a little bit to the "Musk/Pedo Guy" situation. In the case of LL, some of those jurors either have kids who will be applying to colleges, or had kids not admitted to colleges even they had high test scores, etc.,. So it will hit close to home. Nothing's worse than a scorned parent.
don't know why that response ended up merged with the PP's response: trying again. the other big difference is that a lot of people...most people cannot personally relate even a little bit to the "Musk/Pedo Guy" situation.
