The real issue here is that USC is pissed that (1) someone else decided what "qualified" meant instead of their convoluted selection process (2) the proceeds did not go to them directly but to grease someone else's pocket and (3) This scandal is shining unwanted light on the "oh so so above-board and legal seats for cash" racket that the universities run which impacts their image in the short-run.

How I wish this had been Harvard..
