I think the first post is up-to-date ... including the bid now held by VAJRS 13 Elite. I also added the results from the 18s championships. If I've counted correctly, 51 CHRVA teams have accepted bids (and only one team declined an earned bid). For comparison, I think I see 11 ODR teams that have accepted bids (all are ECVE, 540, or SERV teams). Per the official spreadsheets, I think I see 12 more bids that need to be filled (by other regions). Note that some regions don't fill their allocated/returned bids until after all qualifiers end in early May, so things can still be fluid at this late date. ... I'm not sure if it was this thread, but there was a mention of expanding Bid Regionals. I don't know how well that would work without expanding to two days, but I wonder if there could be some type of challenge event in May, where teams could vie for reallocated or returned bids. Teams that want to retain their earned bid can opt to stay where they are. However, teams could compete for a better bid that becomes available to the region. For example, a team earned a USA division bid at a qualifier. Another team in the age group earned an American division slot at Bid Regionals. Some time in early May, CHRVA is gets a reallocated National division bid. Under current "conditions," the reallocated National bid would go to the team holding the USA bid. But, what if both teams thinks they can compete at the National division level. They could play a winner-take-all match for that National division bid. Again, this wouldn't take away the bid already earned by either team and gives teams the opportunity to improve their bid on the court. Teams that fall out of the "reallocation bracket" at Bid Regionals could also play to earn any Freedom bids that become available after most of the regular season is over (no more 9th place Bid Regional teams earning a bid without playing to earn it). Even with all the possible outcomes, it would take maybe one day to firm up the region's bids.
