Um… ‘DP’ is used whenever you reply to someone but are not the same person that they were previously responding to.  For instance, I am the immediate PP, but I am not the other PP at the top who you were initially responding to. I’m sorry that you’ve probably been on this website for years and didn’t even understand that concept.  How embarrassing and confusing for you!
