Anyone? These victims haven't been in their teens for a LONG time. Was anyone threatened with anything? Loss of a career? A job? Anything?

I'm paraphrasing from twitter, so it's not my thoughts, but it encapsulates it nicely: the reason these women didn't come forward forty years is because of the way people are treating them today. You're in such a partisan smog that you can't see that you're doubting them. Everyone always doubts the victim. You're doing it. Moore is trying to do it. It has zilch to do with "the WaPo want[ing] THEIR candidate to win," it has to do with the passage of time, changing mores, and a shifting cultural zeitgeist.

So maybe check why you're obsessed with projecting your partisan judgment onto them instead of looking objectively at the situation.[/quote]
