Republicans lost this in the first couple days when they were absolutely giddy about how the shutdown would let them hurt feds and the poor and everyone else they don’t like.  That told the public Trump wanted this and caused it.  They’ve been backpedaling ever since.  [/quote]

It's Trump's own narrative, bozo.  Trump was practically behaving like a cartoon villain rubbing his hands together saying "now we get to get rid of all those Democrat programs" and things like that.  It's not the PP's narrative, it's Trump's.[/quote]
