On one hand it's a play to see if Russia relocates troops to secure its own damn border.  If they don't, it shows they are overextended and can't even protect themselves, let alone wage war on someone else.  And the longer it goes on, the more it shows the emperor Putin has no clothes.  And, some of the folks in Bashkort and many other places are taking note of it.

The big lie was that as "One Russia" the Russian Federation would protect all.   The truth of it was more like the Russian Federation would keep everyone in line by threat.  But if they can't even deal with some bunch of goons in Belgorod their ability to threaten is rapidly drying up.[/quote]
