I am on a full blown campaign to convince DH to leave this country and move to Dubai purely for safety reasons. At least I don’t have to be afraid to go see a movie when I’m there.
Good, go away.
I moved overseas in 2019. There are many things I miss about America but having my kids do active shooter drills is not one of them. People from other countries look at America and shake their head at the dysfunction on this issue of gun violence.
No country is perfect. Are you aware how relatively recent it is that boys and men are expressing their emotions with guns? Just a couple of generations ago, any random public high school had range shooting training. The kids brought their own weapon to school every day. So it obviously ain’t the guns, people. It’s HOW parents are now raising their children. It truly can’t be outsourced to people who have zero connection nor concern for your child. Many children hardly even see their parents. Maybe a rushed breakfast, dinner on-the-go, plus pandemonium weekends trying to get everything done. The notion of safeguarding the family unit is mostly gone. Our choices are having disastrous consequences. Many, if not most teens are struggling with significant depression and anxiety. Sharing this with their parents is not the norm.
