It’s not as nearby.  It used to belong to Duke Ellington school, but just got transferred to DPR.  Georgetown Univ. has some deal for some use of it.

Maret does not fund the DPR field; they have just paid for some (depreciable) improvements.  The city funds the (very expensive) land purchase.

In any event, the city does not need Maret’s money, and Hardy and DPR’s finances are both part of the same DC budget.

What makes you think they're the only one? Obviously there's Lab School. I was at a meeting where a Lab representative was defending their deal by saying St. John's has a long-term lease of DC land. It wouldn't be at all surprising if you scratch the surface and find all kinds of deals like this.[/quote]
