The head of scouting, Trevor, is simply out of his depth. He’s arguably one of the least qualified individuals to be overseeing the identification and recruitment of talent in one of the richest soccer regions in the country. Under his watch, DCU has lost the trust of many of the top prospects and their families. Players are actively avoiding the program. That should tell you everything. Trevor has not only failed in his role but has resorted to fabricating stories about why top players are leaving the academy—spinning false narratives to cover up the fact that families are walking away because of his lack of vision. Instead of owning the chaos he’s caused, he’s pointing fingers and misleading leadership to save himself.

This isn’t just a leadership issue—it’s a cultural one. The previous Academy Director was a disaster, and somehow, things have managed to get even worse. The entire infrastructure needs to be rebuilt from the ground up. From scouting to coaching to player development, there’s no coherent identity, no elite standard, and certainly no vision that aligns with what this region deserves.

The DMV is one of the most talent-rich regions in the country. Yet it’s being drained by incompetence. The local ecosystem is already overrun with pay-to-play politics and clubs that don’t prioritize development. DC United had the platform to be the beacon of excellence. Instead, they’ve become just like the rest—deplorable.

It’s time for a clean sweep. The players, the families, and this region deserve better.[/quote]
