His new laws restricting freedom of speech have pulled tons of people into jail, some of whom were sent to the front to fight. An entire generation of young men is being traumatized in Ukraine, because they are being forced to kill innocent people. Russians hate Putin. But they've never had an uprising that turned out well for them in their history, so they're not about to mount a revolution now.
