There are lots of great ideas, and research and teaching happening everywhere. To try to distill it to just a ranking by some defunct magazine is to not understand the life of the mind. Our society is in trouble if this is what we value. Many of the ideas that will make life better in years to come will come out of schools ranked outside of the top 20. And not just technology. If a student takes a poetry class that changes the way that they think about the world, does it matter that that class was taught outside of the ivy league? There are incredible ideas all over.
