There have been actual studies that show white folks claim to want diversity, but their actual threshold is something like 11%. Anything more than that feels too Black/brown even though the actual racial breakdown of the United States is not 89% white. [/quote] I am a white liberal and I would not call that diverse for my community. There are no asians or latinos in that group. And there are plenty of schools with more than 11% minority representation where the parents are just fine with things. Two of my friends went to Cleveland Heights High and thought it was great. That's 3/4 black but it's a high achieving school. Bottom line is that parents want schools that are high performing. And they want diversity. They are not always in conflict, and if you believe that, then your racism is in the way.[/quote]
