If your friend just lost her child last night, how do they know it's SIDS?  It's not like it leaves purple spots or something - it would be some time before a diagnosis was made, and even then it's a diagnosis of exclusion.

Aaaand another nice thread gets wrecked by someone who doesn't recognize that there is a time and a place for personal troubles, and thinks that the whole world should stop right now and recognize that bad stuff happens. And a tip: you may think you're "raising awareness" by publicizing your friend's grief, but thank you, we were already aware, and, what you're really doing is flaunting your friend's grief to get attention for yourself.
