To all the GA people posting. Yes, you are correct. The D1/P4 narrative is a girls ECNL talking point. In my opinion its the last one they have. When DA first switched to GA the top talking point was clubs switching to ECNL. Now that the dust has settled this is only brought up in the spring and clubs go both ways. Then it became total number of college commits without any specifications. This stopped working a couple of years ago when GA numbers were relatively equal. So now the ECNL talking point is being limited to D1/P4 only commitments. Which are much more dependent on club connections than league events. If you've been around for a while you can see where things are going. GA is on the upswing and ECNL has plateaued. Don't get caught up in the nonsense. If your kid has talent coaches will fine them.
There is also an 80/20 or maybe even a 90/10 rule with ECNL and D1/P4 offers. Nobody begrudges Hawks or Solar or Surf for being amazing programs but when Wilmington or Beach start quoting statistics about ECNL offers or coaches attendance it is like the mail room clerk taking credit for Goldmans league table. News flash, the coaches are there to see the elites, not the G division of a showcase.
There's also a phenomenon called "ranking inflation" which occurs when the top teams in a league only play each other. Basically as long as top team games are close and there arent any blowouts which almost always happens because defenses are really good teams ranking will be higher than they would be if you played a mix of teams. You see it in the Socal ECNL league which has a large number highly ranked teams. Not that it matters that much but things like this do exist. If you watch the ranking app closely when 2 different really good teams from different leagues play each other the ranking apps general guess is less likely to be true. This might be because of less data but its multiple things that all contribute. Why Im writing all of this is so parents can skip the Fomo. If your kid wants to play at a super college yes playing at a super club will likely open doors. But really good grades will open just as many doors if not more.
