I don't post on social media, but I was robbed at SF and NYC, also threatened by some mental guy in Harlem. I don't care about rate, I go by how safe I was in particular city. I am not American, and travel a lot, so I have my own list of safe/not safe cities. [/quote]

You're just an easy mark. It says more about you than anything else. I've been to just about every large city outside of the deep south or Texas and walk whenever possible or take public transportation and have never been accosted before. Of course you have to use common sense and not stare down at google maps while you're slow walking.

Are there homeless people, panhandlers, meth heads, and crazy people shouting on corners? Sure but they're mostly harmless if you treat them as human beings. But that's the price you pay for emptying all the mental hospitals and having unreasonable rent prices.[/quote]
