Cancelled! Could have been good but they went with a really aggressive instrumentation and it's very lyric-heavy, and the combination feels like a bummer. I also HATE the repetition of the phrase "Gucci-clad" -- it feels so cheap and easy. Taylor sometimes has cheap lyrics like that but putting it in the chorus? Ugh.

Opaline is the boppiest song and most likely to get ear worm status, but it's nowhere near prior hits.

One of the things that really jumps out to me is how heavily produced the whole thing is, to it's detriment. I know these are the 1989 producers, and is a more popular sound than her recent albums, but it sounds like the production of a far less experienced artist, someone they were trying to elevate with production tricks. I just don't get it conceptually. If she wanted to do pure pop, write some actual hooks? Lighten up some of the songs with fewer lyrics? I don't know. It just sounds overdone and try hard.[/quote]
