Let’s take a breath and understand that it will be what it will be! It is what it is. Parents should let their kids navigate the process by themselves. Put your helicopters in their hangers. Try to put yourself in the minds of the administrators, counselors and teachers who are still figuring out conflicts and other issues with the master. How do I know? Parent of three, grandparent of 10 and FCPS teacher for over three decades. The kid who learns to self advocate will be a success!
FCPS hides them until 6 am the day of orientation annd only one day before the weekend. It’s absolutely ridiculous. They should release them Monday so kids can compare and everyone can check for errors before school starts.
If they have schedules complete, they should be visible so the kids can check for mistakes and the counselors can fix their errors before school starts. Really, its absurd.
I promose that your own parents were not trying to hack the school system to get your schedule early so they could bother the school to change your classes. And they certainly let you meet with your counselor to fix your own schedule if there were any issues.
Um no they didn’t. My mom was hot on their trail when we needed to drop me down from an honors class to regular - they were dragging their feet. My mom taught me NEVER to trust or rely on the counselor - you have to be proactive. The counselors are idiots. We chose classes without the counselor’s idiotic and often incorrect input. My Mom worked with me every step of the way - I was not set loose to handle stuff on my own. I am grateful.
So your solution is posting online detailed instructions how to hack the fcps scheduling system? I am sorry but that is crazy. The kids doing this is one thing but an actual adult? Unbelievable.
I didn’t post the instructions. That was a different poster.
