How about someone who is pro Iranian?

Who don’t you just pick someone in Washington and send them to colonize Iran and become its leader.

They are trying to do that as we speak. The Shah's son lives in Bethesda and is consulting with Trump regarding regime change. He wants to return to Iran. But his own father (the liberal pro Western) is the one who first was interested in developing nukes back in the 70s and he finally bought/got confirmation from the US to get a reactor when the revolution conveniently started. The Ayatollah was living in France in exile. The West brought him back to Iran while the Shah was brought to US for cancer treatment. The revolution was in Feb 1979, and for the first nine months, the Ayatollah was pro America. In November 1979, things changed when Carter administration signaled they would send the Shah back to Iran to lead. The Ayatollah felt tricked by the West, and then started calling us "Great satan" and Israel "Little Satan".

Ehud Barak, a very smart Israeli former president, once said it only makes sense for a country the size of Iran to have nukes. He was right. Regardless of the pro Western or anti Western nature of the Iranian government, nukes are still something Iran will naturally be interested in for self-preservation. I am sure even if we installed the Shah's son in power via regime change war, after a few years, he would be interested in getting nukes for his own country to avoid being Saddam'd. If we didn't want Iran to ever get a nuke, then killing Saddam and invading Iraq was the worse thing we ever did because that's exactly what motivated them back in 2003.[/quote]
