I’m actually very surprised that republicans are not campaigning more on the homeownership topic. They should emphasize that democrats want to destroy your neighborhood and community. They want to eliminate single family neighborhoods and force high density development in your community . They want to force everyone to live in tiny apartments and take the metro to work. [/quote]

So taking metro is bad but moving people miles and hours away from work and then requiring them to commons good?  No mention of the health or family impacts nor environmental impacts.  Also do Democrats want everyone to live in tiny apartments or are they recognizing that not everyone wants to live in a McMansion nor can everyone afford to?[/quote]

PP and I was agreeing with this concept. It’s becoming unrealistic for everyone to get a big house and a lot of land. Middle class in Asia and Europe get along just fine raising families in apartments. The average person is simply getting priced out of single family living near urban areas.[/quote]

Not unrealistic at all. The US has a lot of undeveloped land and reducing minimum lot sizes but maintaining single family song could make a big difference. The fertility rates in Asia and Europe are even worse. The TFR for South Korea is .75. In China it is around 1.0 and in Japan it is 1.16. Spain and Italy are around 1.2. The total TFR for the EU as a whole is only 1.38. High density housing destroys the fertility rate and apartments are inherently unfriendly to having children.
