SENT THIS LETTER TO FCPS. LOL CLOSED It doesn't even start snwoing till 3pm. 2 HOUR EARLY RELEASE WOULD'VE BEEN FINE. FCPS IS A A JOKE AND WILL BE. THEY WON'T GO TO SCHOOL ALL WEEK. THIS IS A JOKE.
Huh have they even closed anything yet? How old are you?
MY 7th grader told me they are closed. they will make it official at 6pm.
And your 7th grader’s source is . . . ?
Teacher told the class, they will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday and will bet on at least a 2 delay
Your 7th grader totally misinterpreted. I guarantee you the phrasing was, "My best guess is we'll hear around 6 pm that school is canceled tomorrow. If that's the case tomorrow's quiz will be pushed to next block..." or whatever. I said similar to all my classes today. "I think we will be in class tomorrow, but if we're not here's the contingency." If I don't say things like that, they'll convince themselves the assignments that were due Tuesday/Wednesday no longer count for anything and will be furious when I try to collect them on Thursday/Friday. Teachers know nothing. We learn the plan approximately 5 minutes before the message goes out the community (if that, often we learn at the same time)
