We don't need to protest. The J6 people are the types to shoot up their own local communities and the media will be sure to inform everyone of the latest J6 pardon mayhem.
We don't need to protest but I do wish elected Dems were actually talking about the terrible things he's already doing. I understand that I feel beaten, beleaguered, and ready for people to simply experience the consequences of what they asked for. But I do think that elected Dems have SOME responsibility to, you know, communicate effectively. I think the combo of him actually winning, winning the popular vote, and being forced to go through this all again, is just too much. I'm just hunkering down trying to survive and stay sane this time. I don't have it in me to do anything else.
Some Dems are but I agree they should be doing more of it. EVERY SINGLE DAY. T
Amen, PP. Where are the 2028 hopefuls? Why aren't they using this moment - THIS MOMENT - to build their platforms and show that they can be the one to lead us out of this horror? Unless all the naysayers were/are right and all the hopefulls just suck. Maybe there isn't a one who is going to rise up when we need them.
The dems will roll out the same “moderates” who will talk about “working across the aisle” and “the traditions of the senate”. When elected they will attack the progressives and vote with the republicans.
I'm the PP and I'm a moderate! I despise most of the progressives - something I only admit anonymously. I don't mind them reaching across the aisle! But why isn't any 2028 contender talking right now about bird flu, eggs, the alcoholic moron they're going to install as defense secretary? Why aren't they talking about drug prices going up? How about Trump promising to dismantle FEMA as the fires are raging in California - which I believe I heard correctly has more Republicans than any other state in the country! Is that supposed to go over well in Florida? North Carolina? Louisiana? Texas? There are a hundred things to be talking about right now - and outside of Chris Murphy (yes, pp, good call - I like him, too) I feel like Dems are just not communicating. Anyway - I'm worn out. I'm scared and exhausted. I'm not protesting because this is what people voted for - they ran toward this moron again, and what am I supposed to do about it?
Talking about it right now isn't going to change any of it. It'd be preaching to the proverbial choir; the people who need to understand that message are too busy waving/wearing the flag and celebrating Trump's "triumphant" return. Those issues will talk for themselves in about 6 months. It won't be political posturing at that point, it'll be hard facts with evidence. And the redhat types will still probably ignore; the were never much for science, logic and reason to begin with. But the proof will publicize itself. You really don't need to do anything about it. Just watch.
Maybe you're right. I hope you're right.
