But it shows that (1) you're not alone, if you also support this person; (2) that there is some social momentum to their candidacy; (3) that people like this person enough to put their sign in the yard; (4) that this is what your neighbors think. It is important, like any kind of awareness messaging is important. You are of course free to not put signs in your yard, too. But don't misunderstand the purpose of the signs.
