There is no dispute that Al Jazeera is not independent or free of political interference. Journalists have quit because of this.

The top business-side managers (and even the top newsroom managers) would not have been particularly involved in hiring low-level editors or reporters, and at any rate, the publisher has specifically said his whole plan is NOT to impose new editorial directions that would or would not have anything to do with, say, coverage of the war in Gaza.[/quote]
