Oh, that's easy. Because they've only been invited to the "white" club most recently (mostly post-WW2). Their position within the dominant caste is most tenuous and therefore, they are most extreme in terms of enforcing racial lines of demarcation. [/quote]

This. My in-laws are these people 100%. They are still mad that they weren't accepted to a country club in their area like 30-40 years ago and attribute it to them being Catholic and having several children. It took me a really long time to understand that this is their worldview and it affects everything they do. I'm not sure I would have made the decision to marry my husband if I fully understood this. It's a pretty toxic way to go through life.[/quote]
