I just don't think the Dunn Loring school is as much of a political issue as you think it is. People can deal with rezoning, they don't want to deal with someone who is going to limit our children's rights.
Building a new school to address overcrowding is a good thing.
It is. Unfortunately, Frisch is getting a new school built that’s surrounded by schools that are well under capacity. The growth is elsewhere. It’s a huge waste of money.
This. Shrevewood overcrowding could have been fixed with a simple boundary adjustment to Stenwood and Freedom Hill.
Shrevewood’s overcrowding has been fixed. Vote Frisch out!! The guy is scum.
The overcrowding is temporarily fixed. The numbers will increase as the Covid classes transition out of ES. Are new families choosing private? I don’t think so.
and there would be a simple boundary adjustment with Stenwood that would fix this problem if it comes to be. We didn't need the $60 million man to come up with a wasteful solution to a problem that may not exist.
Exactly this. There were Shrevewood families that left FCPS and aren't coming back. There are Shrevewood families who've reacted to the LLIV approach by sending their kids to Lemon Road. The number of ES kids in FCPS may also decline due to general demographic trends. FCPS's long-term projections (which include student yield from future residential construction not included in the CIP forecasts) only yield 15 more kids at Shrevewood, and most of that relates to a development outside the Beltway. But if there were a rebound in the school's enrollment, there was a simple solution available that could be implemented quickly and would not waste $60M, which is what's now estimated as the cost of Dunn Loring in the latest CIP. Frisch is a moron and he should be voted out.
