A thoughtful post. PP. Someone here thinks [b]posters[/b] are wishing Fox ill and that's not the case. Some of us like you, PP, and I are just noting that people need to realize stroke recovery can be a [i]lifetime[/i] of recovery and we have no way to know his situation. If he's mobile to any degree, that's good. But we cannot possibly know what his full condition is like, so people saying he's "recovered" in the past tense, or "fine," are misleading themselves and others. We can celebrate small milestones he chooses to show but shouldn't add to the common misconceptions that stroke recovery looks like "just the same as before."

My spouse works in the stroke/traumatic brain injury field, and a couple of actors I follow have survived strokes (including massive stroke), so [i]realistic[/i] positivity is something I think people need to learn about stroke recovery. It's not wishing someone ill to be realistic about what happens to them. I do rather wish that if this IS stroke--since NO one in his camp has ever confirmed that, we're just assuming it now -- his people would say the word out loud. It helps take away stigma and create awareness when prominent people say it out loud. But I think his people are so afraid it will mean he'll be negatively labled and won't work again if they come out and discuss it. Their choice, of course, and he owes no one anything!
