No, I actually rarely talk about politics in person. And I don't really understand your point.

My MAGA relatives and in-laws constantly want to bring politics up.  I had to make it a rule, no politics discussion.  Every once in a while someone still pushes it tho, I usually manage to change the subject but on at least two instances have the visit end early.[/quote]

Similarly, the under 35 group in our extended family spend time talking about social justice and the rights of minorities (I agree that's an important subject), yet they attended highly ranked private high schools and colleges in New England states with little diversity. The rest of us have spent years in nursing, social work, and teaching fields actually trying to help kids from all backgrounds.[/quote]
