Also, many kids don't want to be in small schools in the middle of nowhere where 30 to 40% of kids could be student athletes. I tried to convince my dc interested in STEM to apply, they did not because of above reasons. At a larger school they have a lot of research opportunities and being in a major city has also helped.[/quote] What you’re saying is fit is most important. For example, many students who grew up in rural areas often want to go to school in a city whereas my kids who grew up in Manhattan wanted more rural. [/quote]
