As the biggest school district in Maryland, it's a travesty that the school is not doing more than installing latches on bathroom doors in its efforts to improve school safety and security while other districts consider, evaluate and implement new tools and solutions.[/quote]

Are the parents complicit in keeping this quiet? Ashley Edwards' mom, the Kennedy student who overdosed and died, did not sweep her daughter's death under the rug and MCPS had to hold a press conference to address it.[/quote]
