Would Ashland/Hanover be a good place to raise a family? Are there local amenities nearby, and does it feel suburban?
It feels more rural/exurban with definitely some “country boy” thrown in. Lots of trucks, and not the $70k UMC dad type. I’m sure it’s a fine place to raise a family but whether or not it would suit you who knows. Would you be using public schools?
It’s definitely not all “redneck country”. Some of their homes are pricey with decent schools. https://redf.in/yVwhW1
Where did I say that? I said SOME country boy, and I stand by that 100%.
There’s some county people in almost every state and city lol you’re not saying anything special.
Are you claiming that Ashland and Betheda both have "some country people" and therefore have the same vibe? There are definitely lots of country people in Hanover and Ashland.

You can’t compare Bethesda, a suburb located 5 minutes outside a city, and Ashland, which is located 45 minutes out from Richmond. Yes, Loudoun and Prince William both have some country people.
But PP said “country people” are everywhere! So distance doesn’t matter! Of course PP’s comment was absurd and that was my point. My description of Ashland was accurate. It’s country. And having million dollar homes doesn’t negate that.
