There were only three U.S. wars (Civil, WWI, WWII) that had more losses.  You don't believe that is causing a cultural reaction in Russia?  Do you believe that Russia will take up pacifism?  What happens to all those thousands of nukes?

If I were Xi, I would fly over and look Putin in the eyes while asking him to turn over Russian submarine, nuclear, and hypersonic technologies.  If Putin wavered, if I were Xi, I would remind him that this is a test of boundless friendship.  If Putin refused, if I were Xi, I would remind him his main source of trade, foreign currency / money laundering, potential supply of weapons / ammo was coming from China.  If I were Xi, I would immediately get on the plane and head home and leave him sitting at the table while he thought about how to explain the conversation to his inner circle (who Putin probably bragged about his relationship with China to).
